"I've been wanting to mix the Swedish Chainsaw into modern metal tones for quite a while now. So I reached out to the guys at Revv, & after many months & many revisions, we've come up with The Northern Mauler. This combines the best of Revv's wonderful super-tight metal tones with the out-of-control nastiness of the Chainsaw... & the results are better than I could have hoped for! We even kept the labeling simple so even the bass players could use it!
The Northern Mauler combines Swedish Chainsaw mayhem & boutique Revv amp tone in an all-in-one distortion tool for use into a clean channel, power amp, or recording interface. The Blend knob provides 100% Chainsaw Circuit fully counterclockwise, 100% Amp Circuit fully clockwise, or anything in between. This allows for a wide array of tonal customization & flexibility in addition to the above setups. To start, find a distortion sound you like with the Amp Circuit, then mix in the Chainsaw Circuit & use the Volume knob to set global output. The Giv’r knob controls the saturation of both circuits.
